Deborah enjoys baking her famous cheesecake for family and friends while
savoring a cup of tea, sunlight, and nature on her three-season porch.

Frank Miles grew up during the 1960s; his mother’s support of the Civil Rights Movement made a lasting impression. After graduating from Bucknell University, where the subject of his honors thesis was the Bakke affirmative action case, he earned his Juris Doctorate from the George Washington University Law School.
After practicing for eighteen years with the region’s largest law firm, Frank became Vice President, Secretary, and General Counsel of a major corporation, which had only recently hired its first Diversity Director. This was at a time when Diversity initiatives were just beginning to be undertaken by a handful of organizations.

As corporate secretary and strategic planning leader, Frank suggested that his position have oversight of Diversity efforts to underscore their importance to the entire enterprise. He was able to leverage his role throughout the community by encouraging his company to support fledgling projects like the local African American and LGBT Chambers of Commerce, and the Hispanic Community Center.

Frank has chaired, co-chaired, and been a member of DEIB committees at several organizations. In 2008 he co-founded the Diversity and Inclusion Professionals of Central Pennsylvania as a professional development tool for Diversity and Inclusion Professionals. His DEIB work has been recognized by a variety of organizations, including the Harrisburg Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Central Pennsylvania Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.

A frequent speaker, Frank has served as an adjunct professor at both the Penn State Dickinson and Widener schools of law, Lebanon Valley College, and as a Visiting Instructor at the Milton Hershey School. In addition to completion of many continuing legal education courses, Frank’s education in the field of strategic planning includes: “Building, Leading, and Sustaining the Innovative Organization” — MIT Sloan Executive Education, “The Soul of Leadership” — Northwestern University Kellogg Executive Education, and the “Covey 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” training program.

Frank resides with his wife of forty-five years on their farm and enjoys the great good fortune of living within walking distance of their children and families.

Deborah resides in her townhouse, five miles from Frank’s farm.
She drinks tea.

“The key to making DEIB part of an organization’s DNA is to understand the organization and its goals, meet it where it is on the DEIB Journey, and show it how to systematically align sustainable DEIB initiatives to help the organization reach its goals.”
